Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog! I have been doing some digging with friends and we have a few new games that are getting ready to launch that I’m interested in!

Games that launched recently:

  1. Dual Universe

Games pushed to a new date:

  1. Skull and bones

Games in development:

  1. Starfield
  2. Coronation
  3. Earth From Another Sun
  4. Kenshi 2
  5. Kerbal Space Program 2

I have done some major digging, and filtering out what I want in games, what I don’t want in games, and what I want to try. The list of preferences Are:

  1. Open world
  2. Infinite side quests
  3. Short story line
  4. Base building
  5. PVP/PVE
  6. Territory Control
  7. Currency that is easy to get, but not boring to get.
  8. Craftable Items that you can use once, or multiple times.

Now I know there aren’t many games that do this well. Only a few games I know of even come close to these types of systems. 1. Dual Universe, 2. Second Life, 3. Wurm Online come very very close to what I want in a game. However, playing the same games gets boring after a while, so to mitigate that situation, I have been investigating these newer games that are coming out.

Starting with Dual Universe:

Dual universe is a open world player ran economy where you can build ships, factories, and very detail rich voxels. Its a little clunky at first to learn, but once you get your basic building mechanics down, sky is the limit. Vertex precision tool is a huge help, you can also make micro voxels to build the fine details on a ship, furniture, house, or even sculptures and art you wish to create.

Its a very unique game that takes alot of elements from many similar game. I consider it mine craft in space, only mixed with aspects of a 3d animation program.

Skull and bones:

My friend has been talking about this game for months.

1. There is no campaign. There is however stories for npcs you meet in the game. Open Sea side quests. A major thing that I look for in a game. The reason I’m not going to buy it for launch though is because I have so many games already that I’m trying.

2. You can become a pirate king!

3. Open world PVP is another major thing I look for.

4. Survival mechanics! I love the idea of eating and taking care of stats to add that element of gameplay.

5. Crew based gameplay! Like Blackwake, I love the idea of working together to keep your ship afloat.

6. And land based events.

I got this information from https://www.ign.com/articles/skull-and-bones-7-things-you-need-to-know-ubisoft-pirate-game. I always try to cite sources if I get information from a place!

Our next game is Starfield!

This is one of the most interesting games to date, and I have had this on my radar for a long time! Its coming in from Bethesda, the creators of the Elder Scrolls and Fall Out franchise. You have many quest lines from factions all across the galaxy. I think you can be a pirate, or a good guy that hunts pirates. You can add modules and build your ship many prefab modules. You can mine, you can craft, you can do many things In this game. It also spans 1 thousand planets! That is insane! These are fully explorable planets as well. You can go in cities, outposts, and wilderness that vastly encompass the planets.

I love the idea for this game and will likely get it. I can’t wait for the launch of the game. I would totally beta test this if I had the opportunity.

On to Coronation!

Coronation is a interesting indie developed game that was developed by a community! The games description is you can build a villager army, and you can become king by gaining titles and valor. As you grow your army, you can train them, tell them to do tasks such as gather resources, berries for food, and do smithing if you have a town with a black smith.

You have 4 different tiers of quality weapons and armor, and you have 3 types of ores. Tin, Copper, Iron. You can make tools for your villagers, Swords, Shields and Ranged weapons. You can train your villagers for combat, or resource gathering, and they have all the same types of stats as you that are randomly generated as you hire them. They work in shifts, the men work at night, women work in the day time.

You can appoint nobles to help you get crowns to fight for the emperor slot once you become a king. There are 2 modes, if your prince or lower ranked, you have pve. If your King, you can do pvp and take villages from other players. If you want to stay safe, you can befriend a king to make you a village and reward it too you. This allows you to build your army in peace.

They have daily missions and requirements before you complete missions, and its a short story line. One of the best indy games next to Kenshi that I have played.

These are the games that are playable right now. I will cover the other games as I have a chance to play them in beta, or on release. I hope you enjoy my article!
