Hello there to the internet! I would like to share with you my dreams of creating my own homemade signature pizza. To create ingredients for it that no one else has to make my pizza unique! My goal is to make my own dough, my own sauce, and my own cheese!
I’m experimenting now with existing ingredients to get the science of making a great dough. So far I adapted a Italian bread recipe to create my pizza dough, and so far I love it. I use different types of sauces and chesses such as mozzarella and parmesan but I have a dream of creating my own signature cheese and sauce. I just purchased a habanero peach vinegar and am very curious to see what kind of flavor profile that I can make with my first homemade cheese I’m getting ready to make.
I don’t know what different vinegars do, I don’t know what different spices do to chesses. I’m going to cover my experiences by journaling what I do to make small batches of my own specialty cheeses.
The next step will be to make my own tomato sauce. I have recently gotten basil tomato sauce, Cheese Alfredo, and another Red Alfredo sauce. I’m going to test all 3 sauces out. Mozzarella is my go to cheese for most pizzas, but I have to find the right combination. One of my favorite sauces is pregos 3 cheese, and prego meat sauce.
I’m just tired of the same ingredients though, so I want to make all mine fresh. Its not just about being tired of the same things, its about the cost of these ingredients now. Before the pandemic, they were very affordable, but now they just skyrocketed 30 to 50 percent for many processed foods. Even veggies and apples, and tomatoes have shot up too! Its getting to the point where I can’t buy my frozen foods anymore, so now I am rebelling by making as much as I can by scratch to freeze and enjoy.
This is going to be a series on what it takes to make your own ingredients from scratch! Ill still buy the seasonings and such, but I want to make my own dough, cheese, and sauce! I may also make a series on making syrups for soda making for my next series! I hope you enjoy!
