To all the news outlets and all media that are covering protests and other situations of civil unrest. Many of you claim violent protests are peaceful protests. If they are looting, being disorderly, or even starting fires, or throwing things, or punching people, these are not peaceful protests.
Just recently the BBC on youtube have been covering a protest against a dictatorship in Iran. They were showing people starting fires, and claiming that is a peaceful protest. I disagree strongly that a group of protesters that start fires is a peaceful protest.
The requirements of a peaceful protest in my mind are:
- No Violence
- Allowing opponent to state there opinion.
- No disorderly conduct.
- No starting fires
- No one is to be armed.
- Nothing is to be thrown.
- No one is injured by either party.
There are quite a few more that should be mentioned but that is all I can think of at this time. Those 7 things to me are the major things that a protest needs to be in order to be peaceful. This includes the actions of both sides.
People have been murdered by police, and civilians. To me, that is not a peaceful protest. I don’t get where you are coming from when you continue to tout that this is a peaceful protest. I strongly disagree with your assessment.
Also you guys are trying to paint the narrative of all dictatorships have created war crimes, or human rights violations. While this may be true, the way you guys go about displaying it really doesn’t get your word across appropriately.
Every country in the world has committed human rights violations. EVERY country. It doesn’t matter if its a dictatorship, monarchy, republic, or other situations. All 195 countries I am pretty sure have at least once have made human rights violations, from the minor to the major.
The major reasons that I see you guys are up in arms is because its a Middle Eastern country. Its a Dictator ship. Its something you can easily demonize. Its easy to get people riled up and unified. Something that our media now lacks. At least your trying to unify your people rather then divide and push people into sides.
This is the BBC coverage of this incident on youtube:
This is the source of information where I found this article. As I’m talking about something directly related to there channel, I feel I need to attribute this video as this article strongly revolves around this topic.
As I watch the news more and more, its so easy to poke holes in the way they report “Factual Information.”. American media is so easy to do that now because any factual reporting is pretty much out the window.
More and more that I watch modern news the more I strongly want to disprove what they are saying. The issue is data is fudgy at best. Facts can be twisted and manipulated very easily with little to no effort. And its more or less all about creating a narrative to brainwash people with.
Anyway, my point is all 195 countries have had some sort of human rights violation. Some countries commit them more then Iran but they aren’t really looked at. Hell, some of them are even paraded as some of the most brutal countries in the world and still have fans.
This news article is trying to analyze the possibilities of a regime change. Isn’t that best left to think tanks, Interpol and other intelligence branches? I get it that your doing this for entertainment, but you think that because your a media outlet that your voice matters more then the people who watch you.
Anyway, thanks for reading my rant! I hope you have had a great thanks giving!
